FOR VIRTUAL ONLINE AUTHOR VISITS, SEE HERE.

I offer workshops to schools, libraries and festivals.

Schools: Along with reading one or more of my books to your children, I can do activities in literacy, drama or art. It is my aim to tie in with the subject of my story, plus your class topic if possible. For Reception children, I can come for a lovely session of reading.

Here some samples of what I can do:

Before the visit it is vital that the school let the children know I am coming. This can be done with posters, a letter home and looking at my books in class. Work can be done around the stories too. I encourage you to have a look at my 'Tips for Hosting a Fab Author Visit'.  At the end of the day, I can do a book signing for any children or parents that would like a signed book. This is how I can facilitate the reasonable costs to schools, so it is crucial that you help me publicise the event and the book signing. School children receive a special price on books. Free posters will be sent to school prior to the visit.

Costs: FOR A LIMITED TIME School visits start from £50 for a morning or afternoon session. For schools outside of the Isle of Wight, please email for details about costs. ALSO see the 'Tips for Hosting a Fab Author Visit'.

Children can email me any questions about being an author/illustrator to link with IT or literacy. Teachers, please email in advance.

If you have a particular book event coming up, for example World Book Day, I can come and help energise the enthusiasm for books. Book well in advance as these dates go quickly.

I have extensive experience with primary aged children. I have run Art Clubs and workshops for all ages in the last 15 years, tutored English and Drama and been 'hands-on' in schools with my own two sons. As part of the team behind the Isle of Wight Literary Festival Youth Programme since 2012, I am now one of the organisers for the IW Story Festival.

Libraries: Book me for a reading and workshop session. The theme of the workshop can be specially adapted for a season or topic. In return for this visit, please advertise it well and allow me to do a book signing. Email for details.

Festivals: whether you are a literary festival, or something different that you'd like to invite an author to, I'll be very happy to discuss this with you. If you'd like a simple reading, or something more hands on, I can help you to create a magical experience for children and their families. Email me for more details: Jules' email.
